Indonesia has a new social networking site named MyPulau. MyPulau developed by Telkomsel. I don’t really know about the technology used in the MyPulau system. But it is still using PHP and AJAX, I’m just guessing from the URL

MyPulau has 3 main features:
Interests
A list of activity and hobby groups in which MyPulauers can register and be a member of. This will allow for members to receive notifications and updates on schedules and news of the group. The list of activity groups will continue to grow and you can even suggest to MyPulau ones you’d like to add to the list.
Friends
Automatic updates status of which is linked to other social networking sites you are a member of. This way you do not need to go to all the social networking sites you are a member of to update your status there.
Buys
You can select your favorite brands who will notify you of their special offers and Promos. This list will grow to include many brands that you can choose from.
I think, MyPulau can be a great social network and has a thriving community. It can be achieved as long as MyPulau continue to innovate, to design the system as a framework so that other developers can build applications on it, and providing APIs. Because Twitter and Facebook succeed because of the many applications created by developers using the APIs.
