Windows 7 has better security system than Windows XP, it has ownership and permission system for the system files/folders. By default, all system files are owned by user System. Sometimes, for particular functional or aesthetic purposes we must have full access to several system files/folders. Everything can be changed, without having to use additional tools.

How to take the ownership to the system files :
1. Go to the C:\Windows, all system files are stored there.
2. Go to the desired file/folder.
3. Right click, choose “Properties“.
4. Click on “Security” tab, then click on “Advanced” button.

5. Click on “Owner” tab, and click “Edit“.

6. Change the owner to your account.

7. Click “OK“.

How to change permission to the system files :
1. Go to the C:\Windows, all system files are stored there.
2. Go to the desired file/folder.
3. Right click, choose “Properties“.
4. Click on “Security” tab, then click “Edit” button.
